I shoot on film and print in a darkroom I built into a bathroom in Kothrud, which tells you most of what you need to know about how I work. My commercial practice is portraits and product for small Indian labels who want something that does not look like everybody else's grid, and my personal work is a long project about the people who still repair things for a living — cobblers, watch menders, the man who has rewound the same motors on Laxmi Road since 1988. I turn down more briefs than I take, I am slow, and I will tell you honestly if I think somebody else is a better fit for what you are trying to make.
